Provide an All Saints’ Welcome
Refugees from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan are waiting to settle in Los Angeles.
Join our volunteers that are helping families with a range of needs!
From housing and furniture to community and friendship.
Our Refugee Ministry works with IRIS — the Los Angeles Diocese’s refugee and immigration service organization — to help refugee families with a range of needs, from finding housing, to driving to appointments, to assistance with looking for work, to learning English, to collecting furniture and other household items.
A member of our team is a fluent Arabic speaker, but additional speakers of Arabic, as well as Farsi, Armenian, and Pashto/Dari would also be a huge help. Needs come up depending on each refugee family’s particular circumstances, so people willing to be “on standby” to offer assistance are always welcome!
Karen Woodward Ide, who leads the Refugee Ministry, was recently at the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Read an interview about her experience here!
